"My child really enjoys Harrison’s classes. He prepares lesson content based on my child’s interests, which allows my child to stay highly engaged and focused during class."
Jing Wen (CHINA)
"Harrison was being a friend rather than a tutor during his lesson. The way he taught made me not so serious; he used an interactive way instead of delivering content unidirectionally.”
Jack Hsiao (TAIWAN)
"The teacher shares new information and prepares new articles for each class. When encountering something not understood, the teacher patiently explains or immediately provides pictures or videos."
Ms. Huang (TAIWAN)
My Teaching Method
1. The Interest-Led Assessment
Every student begins with a natural, low-pressure conversation. Rather than a rigid test, I focus on identifying your unique interests and passions. My goal is first and foremost to create a motivating environment where stepping out of your comfort zone feels natural rather than forced.
2. Fluid Conversation & Targeted Feedback
I believe that fluency is built through uninterrupted speech. During our sessions, I allow the conversation to flow naturally to build your momentum and confidence. I record grammar, pronunciation, and vocabulary "teaching moments" in the background without interrupting. We then review these notes together and practice in the final portion of the lesson. - bit shorter
3. The Digital Learning Hub
Every student receives a dedicated, shared online portal that serves as a living record of their progress. This document tracks every lesson and provides 24/7 access to your tailor-made curriculum, including:
Multimedia Resources: Links to curated videos and interactive materials.
Practical Practice: Writing prompts and custom grammar example sentences based on our conversations.
Review Tools: Shared forms and notes that allow you to review and reinforce learning on your own time.
Choose your lesson type
25-minute class
This short session is perfect for those who have busy schedules and need a short session to stay sharp. It also works well for young children who are just beginning or may have trouble staying focused for longer sessions.
50-minute class
The standard 50-minute session is the ideal length for most learners. Fifty minutes allows each student to focus on multiple English skills in one session. It’s just enough time to maintain focus without burning out.

Nick - Canadian High School Student
An email concerning one of my most consistent students, who immigrated to Canada from Taiwan when he was in middle school. He is now in Grade 11. Here is an email between myself and Nick’s parents concerning Nick’s progress and his future lessons.
Dear Teacher Harrison,
Happy New Year. Thank you so much for all your support this term. We’re really happy to see Nick’s progress in English, especially that he has been consistently scoring above 70%. It’s been very encouraging for us to see his improvement.
From our conversations with Nick, we’ve noticed that writing is still an area he finds challenging, particularly with vocabulary choice and writing speed. We were wondering if this might be related to limited regular writing practice, as he sometimes struggles to reach the required word count smoothly within the given time.
With that in mind, we wanted to ask if it would be possible for Nick to write one short composition each week starting this year, and receive some brief feedback from you. We feel that having consistent practice and guidance could really help him build confidence and improve his writing fluency over time.
Thank you again for all the time and effort you put into supporting Nick. We truly appreciate your advice and guidance.
Best regards,
(Nick’s Parents)
Rachel - Recent Immigrant to Canada
Rachel booked a single session with me to go over the details of her CELPIP test. She was thrilled with her results after only one 50-minute session!
Rachel - “Hi Harrison - I took CEPIP previously and got 10 or above except SPEAKING, which I got a 9. I am looking to retake the exam again to get a 10 or above on speaking. I am very fluent in English, I just need some tips on CEPIP speaking exam strategy to nail it down.”
Harrison - “Hi Rachel, thank you for your detailed message. I will prepare our lesson to focus on CELPIP speaking specifically. See you tomorrow!”
Rachel - “Hey! Just wanna let you know I retook CELPIP last week and received a full 12 on each skill. Thanks so much for your help!”
Harrison - “AWESOME JOB, RACHEL! So happy to hear it worked out for you! Good luck with everything! It was a pleasure to meet you.”
